Environment

Over the past 10 years, Westley Group has invested considerably in equipment to reduce its environmental impact, whilst working in tandem with raw material suppliers.

Sand reclamation plants have been introduced to permit recycling and dramatically reduce the waste sent to land-fill.

Reversed jet air filtration equipment has been installed to collect fumes from the melting furnaces.

We have completed the transition to clear, energy efficient electric melting of Copper alloys.

Waste is segregated for processing by the appropriate recycling companies. The company works in close liaison with the local authority to meet its obligation under the Environmental Protection Act, and is committed not only to its own performance, but also plays an active role as a member of the Non-Ferrous Foundry Industries Environmental Committee, working to improve the environmental impact of the industry as a whole.

A large proportion of the Group will attain accreditation to BS 8555 during 2008, which will lead quickly to our approval to ISO 14000 standards.
