1. The production of highly-engineered, bespoke, high-integrity sand cast products in heat, wear and corrosion resistant alloys.
2. The production of art and architectural castings.
3. The semi-automated production of smaller and higher volume copper-based components.
Castings are manufactured for commercial and critical application in an extensive range of copper-based, steel and aluminium alloys.
The site employs circa 100 employees and has an annual turnover of approximately £14m. Our ISO certified Quality Management Systems ensure high-integrity castings produced to exacting standards, with full NDT and certification available as required. Our highly-skilled workforce and efficient manufacturing process enables us to offer a flexible, responsive & tailored service to our global customer base.
The site has a large suite of electric induction furnaces in dedicated furnace rooms providing maximum flexibility and volume of molten metal. To accompany this the site has large number of state of the art alkaline phenolic sand mixers (2 x 24 tonne per hour) to provide flexibility of product size and volume. The sand is fully reclaimed via a state of the art secondary attrition plant to enable us to meet our clients’ cost objectives as well as our environmental responsibilities.
J. T. Price produces art and architectural products, panels, ancillary pieces from a few grams in weight to 3.5 tonnes. Over the years we have developed a number of proprietorial techniques to achieve castings of significant size, whilst retaining highly defined finishes, but whilst maintaining incredibly thin sections (5mm) for castings of such large size. The benefit of producing such large, highly defined, thin section castings are that speed of production can be maximised for large scale projects and costs can be more readily controlled.
In September 2013, J T Price benefited from £1M investment in plant and machinery, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of modern technology and casting techniques. The new semi-automatic moulding carousel and core-blowing equipment supplied by Omega have revolutionised the production process, increasing productivity and streamlining activities.
