Testing & Inspection
Before we can proceed to cast any material, we use trained and qualified metallurgists to analyse the material to ensure that it meets the exact requirements of our customers’ orders. A melt button is taken and checked on one of our own on-site spectrometer machines.
If the chemical analysis of the melt is acceptable then the metallurgist will give the go ahead for the casting to be produced. If the melt is not in specification then we add different elements to bring the melt back into the required specification.
All melts are given their own unique melt number and records are kept by our quality department. This provides full traceability from start to finish, throughout all our processes.
We also have on site dye penetrant testers, qualified to PCN Level 1 and Level 2. This is a method of checking the casting’s integrity before it reaches the customer. We can produce die penetrant test reports for you on all the castings that we manufacture.
