Successful Delivery of Safety Critical Castings in Support of the Astute Submarine Build Programme

Westley Group, Spunalloys Ltd are pleased to report the successful delivery of a full set of centrifugally cast ‘inlet/Outlet headers’ to GE Power [formerly Alstom Power] in support of BAE Systems Maritime, Astute Submarines programme.

These products were manufactured to DEF STAN-02 747 Part 1 and supplied fully machined, assembled and tested. The contract was supplied on time in full, with full QA compliance. Below is a quote from BAE Systems Marine.

This recent contract completion follows previous successes on these technically challenging components and exemplifies Westley Group engineering skills supported by a fully vertically integrated manufacturing capability; this ensures that programme risk is minimised and costs are controlled at every stage.

Westley Group very much looks forward to working with GE Power and BAE Systems Maritime on future contracts in support of safety critical components in both Submarine and Surface Ship applications.
