Weekend Night Shift CMS

Cradley Heath
Posted: 30/03/2022

We are looking for 3 skilled, time served, CNC lathe & centre lathe turners for our long established Machine Shop, based in Cradley Heath on the Spunalloys site.

We are creating a permanent night shift for finish machined long length tubes due to current and future demand. We have specified the shift pattern to dovetail with our current shifts but also to incentivise applicants. We believe the compressed nature of the shift will attract applicants because of the flexibility it provides outside of the working hours.

CNC Turner must be skilled and have autonomous ability to set the machine on work pieces ranging from 100mm to 1,200mm diameter, up to 6,000mm in length. They should be familiar with long open chuck boring work. Ideal candidate will have experience of Fanuc/Siemens operating systems. Experience only at shorter lengths will be considered for the right candidate who has the desire to learn.

Manual turner must have skill and ability to set machine on work pieces ranging from 100mm to 1,000mm diameter, up to 5,000mm in length and must be familiar with long open chuck boring work. Experience only at shorter lengths will be considered for the right candidate who has the desire to learn.

The shift is a 36 hour weekend night shift only covering Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights. Overtime to circa. 44 hours is extremely likely. The exact hours are flexible and need to be agreed with the shift workers although a Monday morning handover will be required. There will be excellent working conditions and rates of pay – circa £20/hour.
